Nine-year old Hwang Gyuho, delivered his speech with great eloquence and fluency. “After coming to R.E.A.L Schools for this camp, I am able to communicate better in English with my friends. This trip will be a great memory. Thank you for taking good care of us and teaching us English.” Cultural and student exchange programmes form part and parcel of R.E.A.L Schools’ extracurricular offerings. Early this year, R.E.A.L Schools’ Shah Alam Campus collaborated with QB Global to welcome 11 Korean students to Malaysia for a three-week ‘Fun with English Camp’, with several being as young as seven-years old. The main…

It is incredible to contemplate, in hindsight, what a team of 17 learners can achieve over six months of sweat and toil. On the 4th of March, the third annual session of NISPMUN took off, welcoming 207 delegates for a total of around 230 people from all over the country to a three-day conference that has become the hallmark of Model United Nations at Nexus. The opening ceremony, symbolised by the memorable aesthetics which marked the conference, was kicked off by inspiring addresses from both Nexus’s Principal and its Head of Secondary. The atmosphere of academic discourse was palpable as one strolled between the seven committees packed with delegates in suits and dresses, discussing global issues which affected the lives of others.…
On the 9th of March at 6am, 18 Prince of Wales Island boarders and 9 day pupils travelled to Weld Quay to observe the partial solar eclipse. With the aim of promoting Science and Mathematics, the organisers, Penang Science Cluster, arranged a few simple hands-on activities to help educate the students as well as the public to understand the natural phenomenon of a solar eclipse. Many activities included how to use the pin-hole reflecting mirror to project the image of the sun for safe viewing, observing the sun through a properly configured telescope, and trying the experiment of standing eggs. Some students together took great photos of the eclipse which were published in some of the local newspapers.…
This post is brought to you in collaboration with Tan and Tan. Choosing a home to buy is not an easy task, and it pays to be as well-informed as possible before taking the plunge. An investment like this which involves years of financial commitment requires careful thought and consideration. When it comes to cars, you can test drive that four-wheel drive that you’ve always wanted before committing to anything. But with a home, which is a considerably bigger investment, we usually make a decision based on sales materials, the track record and reputation of the developer, knowledge of city and infrastructure planning in the vicinity…
