Former England cricket captain Mr Michael Gatting conducted a cricket coaching clinic at Sri KDU International School recently. He shared his experiences of being a professional cricketer and related amusing stories of his matches. This reinforced the BLP (Building Learning Power) teaching pedagogy in the school. He drew upon the element of ‘Resilience’, one of the four BLP pillars, in improving his mastery of the game. Some students received individual guidance playing cricket on the field. They showed trust and respect for one another while learning the basics of being a bowler and striking batsman. Mr Gatting played for his country from 1977 to 1995 and captained the national side in 23 test matches between 1986 and 1988.
